Words are not enough; sometimes you need pictures.

Between nuclear armageddon on one hand and the rise of Amerikan Neo-Nazis on the other, cartoonists have been cranking out some powerful images this week. Nuclear themes dominate because it takes time to do artwork in the press of current events, but what happened in Virginia is already getting a graphic treatment, in several senses of the word. Trump has raised the speed and level of new outrages (See Marshall Ramsey) to the point where it’s getting hard to keep up without going numb. And going numb is the last thing we can allow ourselves to do. (See Gavin Aung Than.)
